Guild Policies

Recruitment Standard:
The position of the Royal Defenders of Fen as it concerns new member requirements has changed from previous standards. With the variable of time the idea that the Guild develops warrants that the recruiting develop along with the Guild. There are 3 standards and 1 process that must be met or satisfied in part to be a new member of this Guild. They are level, player status and pre-guilded commitment to the Royal Defenders of Fen. The process involved is appropriately applying to the Guild on-line.
1.  As it pertains to the level or character being invited, it is preferred that the MAIN character be at least level 39. This level has been decided due to the preferred level the policy creators averaging around level 40. Level 39 is simply an important level close to that desire because that is a "spell graduation" level for most pure caster classes as well as hybrids. It will be continually encouraged however that the level of prospective new members be as high as possible to promote to growing nature of the Guild. This is not an absolute, this is a guideline. Players under level 39 will be considered.
2.  Secondly, the status of the character's or players reputation on the server as it is known by Guild members is important. No character or known characters of that player will be allowed in the Guild if there is substantial belief from other members that the player is unpopular on Vazaelle for actions they have committed. Royal Defenders of Fen will take no known risk on allowing its own tag and reputation to be compromised.
3.  The third standard required is a commitment from that player to the Guild prior to being invited. The term before invitation will be discretionary between the officers under the advisement of its members. The motivation for this standard is to promote dedicated players to our organization because "Being a Royal Defender of Fen is a privilege".
During the process of meeting standards it is required that characters wishing to wear our tag be directed to our message board. On the message board an application can be found where players can request to enter our Guild. On this application it can be expected that the player give his name, level, class and a description of his desire to join our Guild as well as any instances of him meeting any standards expected of him/her. If a player has not met the standards outlined above and has only applied online that player will be notified via post, in-game or available email. It will be encouraged that the player group and attend any functions with us help him/her meet those standards and for the Guild to evaluate the player.
The only exception to any outlined standards or rules above will be the use of alternate characters. Additionally there can be exceptions made for real life friends, family or long time game friends of members allowed by Officer or Leader permission.

Guild Social Guidelines:
1. No cussing in Guild chat, ooc, shout, auction or player made channels. Use discretion when using such language in tells or group chat.
2. Offer service to guild members free of charge. i.e. Ports, Rez's and Trade Skill combines etc...
3. Try to pass along gear to needy players that you don't need to sell.. Be encouraged to donate to the Guild Vault and request from it when needed. This is a NEED BEFORE GREED Guild.
4. Help others when you can and offer advice if it's requested, we all need it from time to time and so do you.
5. Be Social. If you are online and available to chat, greet the Guild when you come online and converse when you can. Go /un-anon or use /role-play so your friends know you are online and available. If you are "Hiding" because of Bazaar trade mode or other reasons please use a AFK message or go /anon.

Alternate Characters:
The following has been discussed in depth by all the officers and we've reached an agreement on the following policy: Just to Clarify (though I'm not an enchanter!)An alt. is defined as your secondary character. If, for example, Joe plays a Warrior most often. He likes playing him and it's what he considers to be his main character. But sometimes Joe likes to play his Cleric. The cleric would be his alt. If Joe's Warrior was in RDoF he would be listed as his main and his cleric would be allowed in under the alt policy. If Joe's Warrior was in Tribal Fury but he wanted his cleric to be in RDoF, we would consider his cleric to be his "main rdof" character and therefore apply the regular new member probation.

1. New Members must wait until after the 30 days probation before you will be allowed any alts. (The start of the 30 days is from the date listed by the officer who invited you)
2. All Officers Alts may be invited
3. Officers must still post in the "New Recruit" section when they invite an approved alt. but there will be no probation period for alts.
4. All Alts that were invited prior to this post will remain. This policy officially begins now. (12-10-02)

Accelerated Member Advancement:
For members under the level of 50 there has been a system implemented that is designed to accelerate the leveling process. On the main page of the Royal Defenders of Fen message board a forum is set up under the observation of Shadowpaa and assistants that lead this service. The eligible characters that this service is intended is for a players MAIN character only. Any alternate characters wishing to be leveled using this service is under the discretion of the Leveling Team.
The long term objective of this department is to aid in the leveling of all applicable members until an impasse is reached. Such impasses could be that there are no more members that can benefit from the service (i.e. There are no pre-50 MAINS in the Guild) or the system was abused and can no longer be considered a fair option to the involved Leveling Team. The event that there are no pre-50 MAINS may work in conjunction with future or prospective rules and policies that prohibit or restrict pre-50 characters from entering the Guild. An instance in which the system is abused will be determined by the acting officers in the Guild prompted by any concerns about abuse.
Members requesting for this service must post on the message board under the appropriate forum or contact a member of this team. Additionally members using the service a large number of times or abusing the system may not be serviced at the discretion of the Leveling Team under the advisement of Guild Officers. It is the hope of the Guild that this system will be used for accelerated advancement and not to substitute experience points gained for actual experience gained playing that character. It is not required of a Leveling Associate to give gear or other items to the character being leveled but only to aid in the leveling process. In the event that gear is given to a member it may be considered that this gear is the property of the Leveling Team, it's members or the Guild itself. Any gear not returned at request in that event will result in possible and/or immediate de-guilding. Lastly new members to the Guild may not be subject to receiving the accelerated leveling until a time that it is decided that the player has made a timely investment into the Guild.
The acting members that may be contacted for this service are: Shadowpaa, Vegga and Toban. In the event of a change of characters available on this team or additional members this text will change to reflect those changes.
