Merry Christmas Sun Trust

My parents, my younger brother and Ken and I all chipped in to get my older brother and his wife Visa Gift Cards for Christmas. You know the kind that you can use anywhere that accepts Visa. While I was in Virginia for Thanksgiving my mother ordered two seperate cards, one for each. I watched her make the order, they both were Christmas themed. Today she tells me that she got the cards, but one has a guy fishing and the other says “Happy Mother’s Day”. She called the company, Sun Trust, to try to get new cards and they said that she had ordered those cards and that she was lying. The order confirmation had all the information on it except what style of card you ordered so we couldn’t show them proof. They will refund the money but it will take 5 weeks and they’re charging a $15.80 fee.

Looking at the website homepage, there is a link for “Special Occasions - All-Occasions, Birthdays, Anniversary, and Back-to-School” and a seperate link for “Winter/Holiday Designs” so it’s highly unlikely that my mother clicked the wrong link and didn’t notice which is what they are telling her.

Actually, I checked both pages and they have the same 7 designs on them. Mom picked the two at the top, the gift box, and the sleigh ride. So even if she had clicked the lower boxes by accident she would have recieved the “snowy pine tree” and the “graduation congrats”. And you can only select one card at a time.

The only way I can think of that both my mother and Sun Trust are correct in this is if the website has those cards swapped in the order form. Is there a way to find out if that’s what happened? Sun Trust is still being a Grinch about the situation though.

What is wrong with companies? We’re also having a problem with a birthday present Ken and I ordered for my dad. The company told us it was delivered by UPS on Oct. 19th and that it was noted that a woman recieved them. The only woman in the house would have been my mother and she was at work that day all day from 5am to 8pm. Plus there would have been two very heavy boxes that she wouldn’t have been able to move by herself. I don’t really know what to do, I’m going to talk to UPS and see what they say, then I’m going to call the company, Northern Tools, and ask that they resend it. I’m hoping they will be understanding, I just want my dad to get his present. His birthday was in September.
