Seeril Hawkfeather’s sig

Seeril requested a sig from me in March and I just finally worked my way down my waiting list to his. I’m such a slacker. :)

Myspace Layouts

I just finished reworking the myspace layouts for my own MySpace page and my brothers Myspace Page. Let me know what you think!

Update on attempt #6 for 2007

I’ve had two cigarettes tonight. One at 9pm and one at 11pm, just shy of 5 days since my last cigarette. It tasted horrible and I now have a massive headache. I’m not going to beat myself up for it though, I’m confidant that those 2 cigarettes have not ruined my attempt to quit. My major issue will continue to be finding something to replace smoking to calm down.

Jubilie’s sig and Avatar

I hope Jubilie likes her sig, if she hasn’t forgotten it by now :) It’s pretty bright and cheery in my opinion, happy even. With a touch of mother nature’s wrath to match the quote.

Audrey Hepburn Style Necklace for Anita

Anita let me make her a necklace for prom, which was yesterday. She loves Audrey Hepburn so I did some research on her style of necklace and once Anita showed me her dress I knew I would want to make her a necklace like the one Audrey wears in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s“. So I took a picture of the necklace and Anita’s dress to the bead store and asked for help on how to make the center brooch. The lady gave me a flat brass filligree ornament and suggested that I weave the pearls onto it. It worked wonderfully except I didn’t use the 28 gauge wire like she suggested but white floss. The wire was a bit too stiff and kept breaking. The lady also suggested that I use wire guardians to attach the beading wire to the brooch, which worked perfectly and gives it a symmetrical look. I used 27 pearls on each side of the bottom row, 26 on the middle, and 25 on the top row to force the right shape when it hangs.

When Anita tried it on with her dress she was very happy. The only change she made was to wear it closer to her neck so the clasp hung loosely at the back. Seemed like a very Audrey look. I would have made a longer dangle in the back to counter the weight of the brooch if I had the time. Still, Anita liked it. I can’t wait to see pictures!

Eragon & Eldest

I finished these two books a few months ago. I thought they were very well written, interesting and had great characters. Eragon was far far better than the movie, which I saw before reading the book. The only thing I didn’t like about the overall story but mostly in Eldest was that any problem thrown Eragon’s way was somehow magically solved instantly. The grit and determination of his training is glossed over for the most part, leaving it to the imagination but left me feeling that Eragon got off easy. Anyway, they were great reading materials for the sauna and airport.
