Halloween morning.. I woke up around 10am and while I was in the bathroom I hear a knocking on our door. Not really awake I decided to just ignore it, then someone walks into the apartment! I crack the bathroom door open a little and say “excuse me!” and they say “sorry, sorry” and leave. Freaked out, I finished up and ran into the bedroom to throw some pants on, and answer the door. It’s the building maintenance man. He’s here to fix our cold water in the kitchen that hasn’t worked in almost a year. We put in a request to fix it soon after it broke too.. yet today is the day to fix it apparently. It couldn’t have been any day in the last two weeks when Ken has been up and dressed with Chris coming over for training. Course not. So I let the guy in, he starts banging around under the sink and quickly discovers that it’s too much for him to deal with and he mentions that the plumber was working in the building on Tuesday and they’d have to reschedule him to come back. So fine, the guy is nice, I see him around the building all the time.. do a cat check, then go back to bed after telling Ken what happened. I had to tell him twice because it didn’t really register the first time
He was blinky.
So on to Halloween.. Our apartment building doesn’t let kids go door to door for candy. They go to the lobby and get filled up. The building doesn’t even take candy donations anymore, so we pretty much don’t get anything out of halloween here. Meanwhile, I saw some drop dead adorable pictures of our friends kid who was tigger this year. I don’t know what my niece and nephew were.. hmm.. I’ll have to bug their mom for some pictures. So Halloween sucks here.. I can’t wait to move..
*Future Travel Plans* I always spend 2 weeks in Virginia with my parents and younger brother for Thanksgiving, a week before and the week after. This year, I don’t know if we’re doing an actual dinner or not since it’s just going to be my mom, Gary and I but after Thanksgiving we are all heading to Kiev, Ukraine. My brother got a job offer at a school there to teach english and he wanted us to go with him. We may also take a tour of the city or we may go to Chernobyl. I can remember having to stay inside for a long time when we lived in Germany, because of Chernobyl.
